Blessed Spawning of Tzunki - Saurus characters, Saurus Warriors
Tzunki isn't anywhere close to being the best blessed spawning. Aquatic terrain
isn't used very much, and Aqautic is really the only reason you'd take it.
You do get +1 initiative, so if you have a free blessed spawning slot on a character
5 points isn't much to fork out.
Blessed Spawning of Huanchi - Saurus characters, Saurus Warriors,
Southlands Skink Characters, Skink Cohorts, Horned One Riders
Huanchi could be somewhat useful. It's not a recommended spawning unless
you really do have a major plan for the unit. Contrary to what the actual
blessed spawning says, Horned One Riders can take it which could lead to
a very awesome surprise hitter.
Blessed Spawning of Sotek - Saurus Characters, Skink Characters,
Saurus Warriors, Skink Cohorts, Horned One Riders
+1 attack on the charge, nice. An army that excels at the number of attacks they
have, and you get more. Downside is, Saurus are slow. So not very useful there.
Horned One Riders really love this blesseing though. They're fast cavalry, that hit
hard. This only makes them hit that extra bit harder. Jaguar Saurus of Doom and the
Flying Skink of Death should also get this for the extra bang. I must mention that
almost all the models in a Red Host army has blessed spawning of Sotek, so get those
charges in boys!
Blessed Spawning of Tepok - Saurus Characters, Saurus Warriors,
Southlands Skink Characters, Skink Cohorts, Horned One Riders
Tepok spawnings make an awesome magic defense. +1 dispel dice per thing with
this spawning provided they're alive. This leads to the infamous Southlands
magical defense where all skink priests grab this for a large amount of dispel
dice. Not so useful on units, as it usually bumps them up a slot from core to
special, and there are better spawnings. However, if you have the points and
spare slots, extra dispel dice never hurt.
Blessed Spawning of Quetzl - Saurus Characters, Saurus Warriors
Nice points, more armour. What more can you say? This makes Saurus that little
bit more tougher as they don't go down as easily. Easily one of the best
spawnings available to us.
Blessed Spawning of Itzl - Saurus Characters, Southlands Skink Chief
Let's the character ride mounts. Technically both Saurus Cavalry and Horned
One Riders already have this spawning. Since it's required to use a mount,
if you want your character mounted you'll just have to fork out the 5 points
and the blessed spawning slot to get it.
Blessed Spawning of Tlazcotl - Saurus Characters, Saurus Warriors
Immune to Psychology can be quite useful against some armies. Against others
it will be completely useless. If you know you're going to need it for the games
ahead, then take it. If not, don't. I wouldn't advise using this in a well-rounded
army that is supposed to be able to take on everything. Coupled with Quetzl, Saurus
Warriors with this would make an excellent Slann bodyguard.
Blessed Spawning of Chotec - Saurus Characters, Saurus Warriors,
Southlands Skink Characters, Skink Cohorts, Horned One Riders
Quite useful if you're in the circumstances where you know you'll be pursueing.
Unfortunately, there's no real guarantee that this will be useful with anything
but Horned One Riders. Personally I don't think it's very useful. Horned One Riders
are best versus lightly armoured infantry, and get an extra one dice because they're
mounted anyway.
Blessed Mark of the Old Ones - Saurus Characters, Skink Characters
Can be very random for the points cost. Usually it's best used on a Skink Priest
with the Cube of Darkness. It might be a bit more useful elsewhere now due to the
fact that Second Sign isn't the default spell in Heavens anymore.
