With quite enough power dice to control the magic phase, the idea behind this build is to get your opponent to burn up dispel dice and scrolls within the first 2 turns. When your opponent has run out of magical defence, launch your secret weapon, The Rod of the Storm.

For 35 pts you can cause 2d6 strength 3 (or 4, depending on armour save) hits. On average you should kill around 3-4 models in a standard enemy unit. That’s more than enough to cause the immediate panic test (natural effect of the rod) and potentially take out the entire enemy unit for the rest of the game (if they break and don’t return). This is great to use against eleven rank and file as 3-4 models should be worth around 30-40 points and so you’d of made back the points of the item.
