Not liking the old cow models using metal riders, and not happy with the current plastic LM CORs. I decided to throw together a single COR using the DE cold one and a saurus warrior. After being happy with it I built 2 more. These arent done and need more detail like the extra armor pieces and what not.
The saurus' fit nicely on the new cold ones. To do this you need to trim off the top of the back part of the saddle and trim off some of the bottom of the saurus tail to make him fit. To get the head angled right, you need to remove the first back spine and the top of the neck to get the head angled properly.
I hope you guys like them.

Thought about doing this myself by figured it'd be too expensive. They certainly are sexy though, job well done. |

If we won't get new plastic COR with the new edition or GW will fail again to amaze me with its conception of lizardmen cavalry, I'll probably take your idea. _________________ -My lord! There on the left flank! Hobbit Vampire Chefs!

It costs about $2 more per model to make than to buy the current LM CORs.
A box of current LM COR is 8 models for $35 - $4.375/model and the price for each of the above models varies depending on how many you actually make. |

I had a bunch of the current plastic saurus cavalry and they fit on the DE cold one cav just fine. Trim the back of the DE saddle a small amount and shave the front off and the Lizardmen model fits right on like he was made for it. _________________ You don't need eyes to see, you need vision. |

Do any of you guys have the left over cold ones from the LM set? I need about 5.
I'll put a post on the wanted forum.

Awesome.. Thanks for the idea. I ran across this thread through google because I've recently rekindled my interest in Lizardmen (ok.. as sad as it is.. I picked some up again cause my girlfriend thought they were cute).. after leaving in 6th edition. The army I just so happen to be getting rid of at the moment are Dark Elves... and this is perfect for me. I love the DE Cold ones and will do the same conversion. The Dark Elf Knights will be converted into Vampire Count Black Knights. |
