Behold Kroak: www.rollespilsfabrikken.dk/kroak/
I made this Kroak prop for a Danish Warhammer LARP.
The body is a giant monkey teddy bear from a theme park, the head, hands and feet is carved styrofoam, with a layer of PVA glue and news-paper with a modelled layer of paper clay to give detail. To enforce, it's sprayed with alcohol-thinned fast Araldite. The paintjob is airbrushed acryllic paint with a final coat of half-shiny spray-can varnish. The neck and smoldering skin parts is acryllic toned latex and toilet-paper, paintet with a non-bounding acryllic paint that forms in fine little proplets, that provide the spottet finish. The body is wrapped in roughed-up gaze dipped in a mixture of water, kaolin, PVA glue and a light tone of acryllic paint, the wathered finish is achived with sprays of darker tones of water diluted acryllic paint.
I didn't make the throne, the mask and neclace, but they're made out of a PE foam called platezote. I did however do the painting of the throne, a little rushed, the night before it was featured in the LARP. It's light enough to be easily carried by two.

so you say you used styrofoam or the head.
How did you carve the eye sockets ?

I am saddened to say that this link to the Kroak picture doesn't seem to be working and gives me a oops message. _________________ Let us, then, be up and doing,

er, the last post was almost a year ago
Either way, the website where that link leads was closed because of copyright issues with GW, turns out for their LARP they didn't follow all the guidlines well enough for GW. I must say I am very interested to see what it looked like though

The web page for "It is better to die for the Emperor" has been closed at the request of Games Workshop.
More info will follow.
Rest assured. All will be well.
(and no, sadly, this is not a joke)
